Robert Lee Jr. was born on 18 September 1971, in San Diego, California USA, to Robert and Jeanie Lee. They used to own clothing stores in Escondido and Encinitas, California. Lee acquired his early education from Painted Rock Elementary School after which he attended the Twin Peaks Middle School and matriculated from Poway High School.
During his high school days, he was also a breakdancer. At the age of 18, Bobby Lee left his household and started working at various restaurants/coffee shops, while also attending the Palomar college, but from which he eventually dropped-out. His brother Steve is also a musician and host’s the “Steebee Weebee” podcast.
Drug Addiction
At the age of 12, Bobby Lee became addicted to meth and marijuana, and by the age of 17 he had gone through three rehabilitation procedures. During the production of “MADtv” Bobby was under a lot of stress and relapsed, and ended up using Vicodin. However, Lee once again chose to walk the path of sobriety, the credit for which goes to Lauren Dombrowski.

Bobby Lee worked in a coffee shop which closed down in 1994, after which he went to the next-door Comedy Store and got a job there. Originally, he did chores at the club, however, Lee later developed an interest in the stand-up comedy, and ended up participating in an amateur night event, which was the first step towards his successful career.
One year later, Bobby Lee was offered a chance to work with both Pauly ShoreandCarlos Mencia.
He also worked at a Los Angeles shop, whose owner was Pauly Shore’s mother. Initially, Lee’s parents were not very happy with his career choice, and they had an estranged relationship. However, after Bobby participated in the “Tonight Show”, his father Robert Lee apologized, and their relationship improved.
