Rare supercars to shine at Exotics at City Hall show this weekend (2024)

If you’re a fan of super cool and rare cars, you will not want to miss the Exotics at City Hall show Saturday, April 6, in downtown Salt Lake City. Supercars have a way of capturing the imagination — and inspiration — for children and adults alike, making this the perfect event for the entire family.(See event details below)

Formerly known as Exotics at The Gateway, this year’s show boasts a new location and some new cars you’ve never seen before — and may never see again. Cars will be lined along 200 East, between Library Square and the City and County Building (400 South and 500 South). The road will be blocked off so you and your family can take all the time you want to enjoy the view. In addition to the awesome cars, there will be music, merch and giveaways on the Library Square plaza.

And the best part? It’s free — just as it’s always been. The event, presented by Need 2 Drive Utah, is from 4-8 p.m.

With more than 100 exotic cars on display, including Ferraris, Lamborghinis, McLarens, Porsches and other special cars, this will be a night you won’t forget. Here’s a preview of some of the special cars that will be there.

If you’ve ever seen pictures of a Pagani before, you know they’re some of the most stylish supercars ever made. Well, @supercar_ron’s is even more special — it’s the first of its kind in the United States. Fitted with the ultrarare and ultracool Tempesta package, seeing this super hypercar might be your first and last opportunity to see one. Oh, and it’s worth over $4 million.

Also owned by Utah treasure, @supercar_ron, the Porsche 918 Spyder might not be quite on the same level of rarity as the Tempesta, but it’s up there. This extremely special car is a Porsche legend and is absolutely deserving of its revered status.

Porsche Carrera GT

Made all the more popular in recent years by YouTube megastar Doug Demuro, the Carrera GT just might be one of the most famous, respected and feared supercars of all time. It’s beautiful, extremely rare and essentially a street legal F1 car. It also has ties to several notable wrecks and the tragic passing of Paul Walker, star of "Fast and the Furious" films. Like several of the other cars on this list, this may be your only shot to see one in real life.

OK, one more Porsche. There will likely be a dozen or two Porsches at the show, and at first glance, the GT2 RS might blend in with the rest of them. But make no mistake, this is no regular 911 with a giant wing. This is one of the greatest track weapons of all time. The GT2 RS is Porsche performance perfected, setting itself far apart from even its closest competitors.

Be captivated by the Lamborghini Murcielago. Photo by Lamborghini

Lamborghini Murcielago SV

The Murci represents the last of the truly analog V12-powered Lamborghinis, and honestly, it still draws a huge crowd. Its bat like appearance is endlessly captivating, and the Superveloce’s extra power, aero kit and lighter weight make it even better.

Lamborghini Aventador SV

Like the Murcielago SV, the Aventador’s Superveloce variant is special for all the same reasons. It’s the car that Lamborghini itself referred to as “crazy,” as evidenced in its hyperactive V12, aggressive body kit and other factory added performance modifications. If you like the Aventador, you’ll love the SV.

Is the Lamborghini Sterrato an off-road beast or a supercar? Decide when you see it at the Exotics show. Photo by Lamborghini

Lamborghini Sterrato

But perhaps the coolest Lamborghini on the market right now is the Sterrato. Not to be left out of the off-road craze that has gripped the industry, Lamborghini has created what many have referred to as the most fun supercar ever. It’s essentially a lifted, beefed up Huracán, complete with all-wheel drive, thick all-terrain tires, skid plates, nose-mounted rally lights and other rally-inspired modifications. There are a few in Utah, and the owners have not been shy about ripping them off-road and getting them thoroughly muddy.

Ferrari SF90

The big boy Ferrari, the SF90, is a serious hypercar with a serious price tag. It’s probably the coolest plug-in hybrid on the planet, in which the three electric motors aid the thunderous acceleration provided by the twin-turbocharged V8. The plain-Jane SF90 makes over 900 horsepower, while its higher performance variants produce over 1,000 horsepower and cost over $1 million.

Other surprises

Even if the show were only these few cars, it would be worth it. But there will be many, many other cool cars to see, some of which are being kept secret until the event.

You can see all these super rides for free, thanks to sponsors including KSL Cars, Tint Citi, Jags Fuel Stores, Flanker Kitchen + Sporting Club, Windshield Skin Utah, PME Tuning, DC Customs and All City Event Rentals. If you'd like to say thanks, there will be opportunities to donate to Utah Foster Care, but it is not required.
