VINTAGE ICE CREAM TRUCK

This adorable ice cream truck is the eco-friendly future of food trucks! The kitchen power is supplied by four solar panels mounted on the roof and power is stored in a Joule Case battery system. Firefly Fabrication is the only Joule Case-approved installer for food trucks in California. This silent, zero-emission power makes serving up (and eating!) ice cream from the Nelson double row dipping cabinet, a joy. Thirsty customers can also grab a beverage from the custom-installed Whipped Cream O’Clock display fridge.

Oh Neil’s Ice Cream

This vintage ice cream trailer is actually a retrofitted Airstream built for Oh Neil’s Handscooped Ice Cream. This challenge for this design was to fit the oversized equipment within the aluminum facade without losing the Airstream’s original charm. We fabricated a larger entryway and serving door, and installed a heavy suspension system to accommodate a gigantic Nelson dipping cabinet, Emory ice cream maker, and full size upright fridge. After adding heavy duty suspension and an exterior polish we finished it off with a retractable awning to compliment the classic vibe.

SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM TRUCK

The Sure Good soft serve truck brings a South African twist, like the 99 Flake, to classic soft serve ice cream and shakes. While a shuttle bus is not the ideal chassis for a food truck, we were able to modify it to fit three Spaceman soft serve machines and plenty of storage space for cones and toppings. The exterior of the truck is eye candy with a custom, illuminated menu board and a wrap design featuring pastel colors that are the essence of summer.

This couple from Scottsdale, AZ identified a gap in their local market: there was no upscale soft serve ice cream. Starting small with only a folding table, branded tablecloth, and tabletop soft serve machine, they tested the market. After a few months of success, they got an SBA loan to grow their humble business. Enter Firefly! As a licensed trailer manufacturer, we built their 16’ stainless steel trailer with three Taylor soft serve machines from the ground up. Finished with a branded wrap and Firefly’s signature magnetic menu board, this soft serve trailer is sure to attract families looking for a cold treat to escape the year-round desert heat.

We jumped at the opportunity to help this Southern dairy brand launch a regional food truck marketing campaign. This client had specific freezer requirements to match their product’s needs including a 72” dipping freezer. Ultimately, we were able to fit all the appliances they needed to accommodate the high-volume throughput within a 14’ kitchen footprint. The Mayfield ice cream truck team reconnected with their community and customer base, giving away 120,000 ice cream samples and 130,000 coupons at 48 activations in only 12 weeks.

ICE CREAM SPRINTER VAN​

With a few boxier Coolhaus trucks already in operation, this ice cream truck chain wanted to explore whether their concept would work in a more fuel-efficient sprinter van. With some custom fabrication to address the curved walls, we were able to successfully build a kitchen that worked. Color changing exterior lights compliment the colorful wrap and grab attention.
