Did you just get an air fryer? Here are some easy air fryer recipes for beginners to help you unbox that new air fryer and start using it right away!
Just like the Instant Pot craze, it has taken me a few years to jump on board with an air fryer. Perhaps it was the thought of giving up more precious real estate on my counter to an appliance. Or maybe it was just that daunting feeling that I get whenever I try to learn something new. Whatever the rationale, I came across a Black Friday sale on air fryers and that sealed the deal. Of course, we had the thing for several weeks before I actually opened it up and got to cooking. I am still learning and I am continually surprised at all of the things an air fryer can cook!
Sure, you can use the air fryer to cook up all sorts of breaded items that you would traditionally bake or drop in a deep fryer. However the main reason that I was interested in an air fryer was the promise of making some healthier dishes that taste crispy and fried, yet lack the grease and fat that a traditional deep fryer yields.
The very first thing that we ever cooked in our deep fryer was a batch of zucchini chips. They were about as easy as you could get (sliced the zucchini into round slices, tossed in olive oil, sprinkled with sea salt and cooked). They came out great! I suggest picking a super simple recipe to get started so you don’t get overwhelmed. Open the box and start cooking!
